Level of development in Kazakhstan decreased: Kazakh Prime Minister
ASTANA. April 8. KAZINFORM /Kurmat Samarkhan/ “According to the World Bank, the growth of the world economy could decline by 1-2% this year”, Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov has said today at the plenary session of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament.According to the Head of the Government, the level of development in Kazakhstan has slowed down as well. According to preliminary data, the GDP fell by 3.2% in January this year, the industrial production – by 3.2%, the volume of construction work – by 11.5%. “Unemployment was 6.9% in January and 7.1% in February”, K.Massimov said.
“The Government is working at antirecessionary program now. Our actions are aimed at reducing barriers. Primarily, it is necessary to resolve the banking system. 480 billion tenge had been allocated to four main banks", the Head of the Government noted.
“The next measure is protection of rights of interest-holders. It is necessary to support the construction. For this, the banks are obliged to grant loans to the interest-holders ”, the Premier said.
