Government discontent with banks showing poor rates of mortgage loan refinancing
ASTANA. April 20. KAZINFORM /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ The Kazakh Government is disaffected with a group of banks, demonstrating poor rates of refinancing of mortgage borrowings.
“The last week reports showed refinancing by all banks amounted to KZT 4,5 bln. This week it is only KZT 10,3 bln. Yet, it insufficient. I guess I will have to hold a meeting with bank exectives and the conversation will be rigid”, Vice PM Umirzak Shukeyev stated today at the telephone conference.
"Arange of banks do not show any dynamics at all. The PM charged to scrutinize the issue within a week. The banks that are not willing to work will be punished", he added.
