ASTANA. April 22. KAZINFORM. /Muratbek Makulbekov/ The Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament has approved a draft law “On ratification of the agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan on cooperation in construction of Pre-Caspian Gas Pipeline” at its plenary sitting today.
Kazakh Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, who presented a report, noted that the document envisaged joint liabilities on creation of favorable conditions for cooperation in the project. Implementation of the agreement will also allow to transport up to 20 billion cubic meters of Turkmen and Kazakh gas annually. Thus it will develop export and transport potential of Kazakhstan and promote development of the country’s economy.
The agreement was signed in Moscow on December 20, 2007. Construction of the gas pipeline is planned to be finished not later than 2010.
