KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ The Conference on the further development of Astana with participation of the President is underway in the Palace of Independence.Opening the conference the Head of the State noted that development of Astana has always received close attention of the Government. “Despite the want of funds, the Government provides the required money to ensure the development of the city. The construction must be continued; every scheduled thing must be realized. We will chair the OSCE next year and afterwards we plan to chair the Organization of the Islamic Conference. Astana will host a lot of meaningful events. Leaders of various confessions will gather here this year. The 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence is to be celebrated in 2011. We must start preparing for that today. I have surveyed the city today. Many things are done. But we cannot stop on it”, the President said.
