ASTANA. May 5. KAZINFORM Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Bakhyt Sultanov has received a delegation of the United Arab Emirates headed by ex-Minister of Economy of this country Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi today. According to the Ministry’s press service, the meeting was attended by directors and officials of the key departments and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to the UAE Askar Mussinov. The delegation consisted of the representatives of business circles in construction and real estate and administrations of large trade houses. During the meeting B. Sultanov informed the guests of the socio-economic situation in the country and the anti-recessionary measures launched by the Government. The Minister also briefed about the situation in Kazakhstan banking system. “In spite of the difficulties in borrowings we have succeeded in preservation of its stability”, B. Sultanov noted. Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi highly appraised the Kazakh-UAE bilateral relations which “successfully develop in all spheres”. In the course of the meeting the parties discussed investment opportunities of the UAE in Kazakhstan. B. Sultanov said Kazakhstan had done huge work on attraction of foreign investments to the country’s economy. It was noted that Kazakhstan created favorable environment for investments inflow and the amendments inserted to the country’s Tax Code would improve conditions both for domestic and foreign investors. Upon completion of the meeting, the Kazakh Minister expressed hope for mutual interest in strengthening and development of bilateral cooperation.
