Customs Union to start working from July 1, 2011: U.Shukeyev
ASTANA. June 1. KAZINFORM /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ «The Customs Union established by Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus will start working on July 1, 2011», Kazakh First Deputy Prime Minister Umirzak Shukeyev has said at the telephone conference of the Government today.
U.Shukeyev informed that Kazakhstan and Russia agreed to transit their goods only by certificates of origin beginning from July 1, 2010 and without any Customs clearance beginning form July 1, 2011. «Firstly, we must harmonize informational customs and tax services of three countries. All registration on the Kazakh-Russian boundary will be moved to the exterior outline of the boundary. All non-tariff regulation – sanitary, veterinary, phytosanitary – must be canceled by July 1, 2010», U.Shukeyev noted.
Besides, U.Shukeyev noted that the Customs Code, the development of which our country is responsible for, will be introduced to the heads of the three states in September 2009.
As earlier reported, 5% of positions of the Common Customs Tariff are left to be agreed. All issues, considered by the commission of the Customs Union will be submitted for consideration of the head of the states who will meet on June 9, 2009 in Moscow.
