Nurbank and ICIEC signed Memo on cooperation
ALMATY. June 4. KAZINFORM /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ The Signing ceremony of the Cooperation Memorandum between Nurbank and ICIEC (Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit) took place yesterday in Ashkhabad.Thus Nurbank has become the first Kazakhstan bank to have provided its clients services of insurance and export credit of trade and investment transactions with ICIEC countries to the amount of USD 150 mln; Kazinform refers to the BankТs press-service.
The Memorandum was signed by Director General of the ICIEC Doctor Abdel Rahman Taha and Chairman of the Board of Nurbank Marat Zairov. The ICIEC is an institution of the Islamic Development Bank. The ICIEC was set up in order to strengthen the economic relations among the member countries of the OIC. Today 37 countries enter the ICIEC. Kazakhstan is a member of the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit since 2005.
Prior to this event M. Zairov visited Saudi Arabia in May this year. During his working trip he met with IDB President, Doctor Akhmad Mohammed Ali Al-Madani, Vice-President Abdul Aziz Al Khinai and reps of the ICIEC, ICD (the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector) and ITFC (the International Islamic Trade and Finance Corporation) and a number of Saudi banks.
During the event the parties also discussed the issues on prospects of financing of investment projects jointly with the ICD.
