Kazakhstan's international reserves rose by 0.7% in July 2009
ALMATY. August 12. KAZINFORM /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ Net international reserves of the National Bank in July 2009 increased by 7.2% or USD 1.3 bln - up to USD 19.9 bln, Chief banker of Kazakhstan Grigory Marchenko has said today.
Sale of currency on the domestic currency market and operations on Government's external debt servicing were neutralized by incoming foreign currency transfer and increase of the balance on the banks' correspondent accounts in foreign currency in the National Bank. As a result, net currency reserves in July 2009 grew by 8.6 % or USD 1.4 bln. Gold assets in July 2009 were reduced by 2.6%.
International reserves of the country including National Bank's assets in foreign currency grew by 0.7% and made USD 42.5 bln. National Bank's assets in national currency made KZT 600 bln.
