ASTANA. September 18. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Members of the Committee on Economic and Regional Policy of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament headed by Secretary of the Committee Talgatbek Abaydildin met with the head of National Economic Chamber 'Atameken' Union and representatives of business circles. Representatives of the ministries and administrations took part in the event as well. The parties considered the issues of development and support of small and medium business. Chairman of 'Atameken' Union Azat Peruashev informed of a number of proposals made by business associations. In Kazakhstan an enterprise can be considered as a large one provided that the cost of its assets exceeds USD 5 mln. Thus after joining the World Trade Organization, according to the standards of which large business can not be supported by its member states, all large enterprises of Kazakhstan the assets of which exceed the standard will not receive the state support. That is to say the most part of the Kazakhstani business after joining the WTO will be on the hop against the European countries. "We think the criteria of enterprises' assignment to small and medium business are needed to be reconsidered", A. Peruashev said.
