PM Massimov: Good 'Doing Business' rating is not a reason to loosen up
ASTANA. September 22. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Kazakhstan Prime Minister Karim Massimov declared that good 'Doing Business' rating is not a reason to 'sit back' satisfied. He announced this at the conference "Doing business 2010: holding reforms in the hard times".
"No doubt there is some progress made during these years. However it is slow and we could have achieved much more and we must do it", K.Massimov said. The Prime Minister also expressed an opinion that there will be no alternative to the market economy in the foreseeable future.
September 9 2009 the World Bank published the results of the annual rating 'Doing Business'. Kazakhstan has moved from the 70 place to the 63rd.
Speaking about the world financial crisis, Karim Massimov pointed out that "a year ago it seemed to be an apocalypse and we had no light at the end of the tunnel. Today it is absolutely different. But such quietness arouses doubts."
