Putting Kenkiyak-Kumkol pipeline into service lets Kazakhstan supply domestic oil to its oil refineries
ASTANA. September 24. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Having commissioned Kenkiyak-Kumkol pipeline Kazakhstan got an opportunity to provide its oil refineries with domestic oil. Minister of Energy Sauat Mynbayev has said it at the IV Eurasian Energy Forum in Astana today.
"This does not mean we will refuse from the Russian oil import. This will be mutually beneficial supply. Moreover, after the Customs union is created we will witness more interpenetration of economies, including energy sphere", Mynbayev stated.
According to the Mniister, in 2008 Kazakhstan imported 12.3 mln tons of oil, 6.6 mln - from Russia. The oil was primarily delivered to Pavlodar Oil Refinery.
