Over 60 companies take part in Kazakh-Polish business forum

ASTANA. October 2. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ Over 60 companies of Kazakhstan and Poland are taking part in the Kazakh-Polish business forum. "A level of political and economic relations between our countries reached high rates. This business forum is one of the results of our mutually beneficial cooperation", Kazakh Vice Minister of industry and Trade Yerkhat Iskaliyev said opening the forum. He expressed hope that the forum will help establish contacts between the Kazakh and Polish business circles, and reveal investment opportunities of both countries. Polish Minister of Economy Waldemar Pawlak heads the Polish delegation, which includes representatives of the largest companies in the sphere of construction, agriculture, pharmacy, industry, oil and gas. In the course of the forum the participants plan to discuss the issues of trade-economic cooperation, establish business contacts, opportunities of joint productions creation, and issues of investment projects umplementation in the two countries in different sectors of economy. *** Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Poland made up USD 524 mln in Jan-Jul, 2009 ASTANA. October 2. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Poland made up USD 524 mln in January-July, 2009. Kazakh Vice Minister of Industry and Trade Yerkhat Iskaliyev has announced it at the Kazakh-Polish business forum. According to him, export share made up USD 342.8 mln, import - USD 181.2 mln. "For the last years horizons of our cooperation expanded. Poland became one of the main trade partners in Central and Eastern Europe", Y.Iskaliyev noted. "Kazakhstan has great resources and opportunities. We know that Poland is strong in agricultural technologies, marketing activity, business", he said. In the course of the forum the Kazakh Commerce and Industry Chamber and the Polish-Kazakh Commerce and Industry Chamber of Poland signed a Memorandum of cooperation, and the Kazakh Employers Confederation and the Polish Employers Confederation - an agreement on cooperation.
