British specialists ready to take part in creation of new university in Astana
ASTANA. October 5. KAZINFORM /Arnur Rakhymbekov/ The British specialists are ready to take part in creation of a new university in Astana. This has been announced at a meeting of representatives of the Kazakh Ministry of Education and Science with the British delegation headed by Minister of State for Higher Education and Intellectual Property David Lammy MP.
At the beginning of the meeting 'a classroom of online lesson' placed in the building of the Kazakh Ministry of Education and Science was demonstrated. Then there were held negotiations in the roundtable format with participation of the heads of the Kazakh Ministry.
In the welcome speech Kazakh Vice Minister Aidar Zhakupov informed of main achievements of the Kazakh education. According to him, Kazakhstan actively strives for integration in the European space. According to the Ministry's data, 44 Kazakh universities support partnership agreements with 24 foreign educational institutes on recognition of two graduate education.
"A special place in bilateral cooperation with Great Britain occupies the Kazakh-British Technical University. It united two spheres of interaction - energy and education. The Kazakh-British Technical University is one of the respectable universities of Kazakhstan", A.Zhakupov said.
David Lammy, in his turn, expressed hope that their visit will give an impulse to further expansion of mutual cooperation. He added that the British specialists are ready to take part in creation of a new university in Astana. Besides, the foreign guest noted a high level of knowledge of the Kazakh students, who study in Great Britain. In this connection, D.Lammy hopes that the amount of the Kazakh youth, who goes to Great Britain for receiving education, will increase.
