ASTANA. October 6. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ Kazakhstan and France has a big potential for cooperation; Kazakh Vice Minister of Industry and Trade Yerkhat Iskaliyev has said at the Kazakhstan-French business forum in Astana.
He noted that according to the customs statistics the trade turnover of Kazakhstan with France during January-August 2009 has amounted to USD 2.3 mln whereas the import - USD 731 thousand. The gross volume of French investments to the Kazakhstan's economy since 1993 has amounted to USD 4.8 bln.
"But to my point of view this number does not correspond that potential of cooperation which Kazakhstan and France have. Today we have a good opportunity to change the situation", Y. Iskaliyev underlined.
According to him Kazakhstan has created all conditions for that the foreign investments were effective and sustainable. Kazakhstan created a legal base to carry out the investment activity.
"In 2003 we approved Law on investments which at full extent regulates all legal and economic basis of promotion of investments. During the post-crisis period we intend to concentrate our efforts on the industrialization policy", - the Vice Minister said.
He also emphasized that a five-years plan on enforcement of the industrial-innovative development which will be directed at concentration and optimization of Kazakhstan's resources for qualitative change of the economic structure.
"I think that French companies can contribute to the development of these branches having experience, technology and human recources", - Y. Iskaliyev said.
