Kazakhstan plans to raise oil production up to 80 mln tons in 2010
ALMATY. October 7. KAZINFORM /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ Oil and gas sector is the most dynamically developing sector of the Kazakhstan economy which provides a significant part of the country's GDP, budget incomes and currency revenues, Vice Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Lyazzat Kiinov has said at KIOGE-2009 oil and gas exhibition in Almaty today.
"For many years the oil and gas sector of the republic has remained a locomotive of the Kazakh economy promoting realization of important socio-economic tasks and development of the related sectors.
In 2008 oil output in Kazakhstan made 70.6 mln tons, this year this figure is expected to make 75 mln tons. In prospect, we plan to produce 80 mln tons of oil in 2010 and 100 mln tons - in 2015", the Vice Minister added.
"Over 12 mln tons of oil were processed at domestic oil refineries last year. We expect the same index in 2009", he added.
About 1000 delegates took part in the KIOGE-2009 conference.
