Kazakh Minister of Energy proposes to lift ban on diesel fuel export
ASTANA. October 8. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ Kazakh Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sauat Mynbayev proposes to lift the ban on diesel fuel export.
He has announced it in an interview to mass media after the Government's session.
"I ask to lift the ban on diesel fuel export. If we do not open the export on diesel, we will not be able to use it. Nowadays it is necessary to keep prices for fuels and lubricants down and provide the market with a corresponding amount of gasoline and jet fuel. We have a common market with the Russia Federation. At present Kazakhstan import 40 percent of jet fuel from Russian and 30 percent - of high-octane gasoline", the Minister noted.
According to him, in the second half of the year the prices have risen outside Kazakhstan, now difference in prices in the domestic markets between Kazakhstan and Russia reaches 40 percent. As a result of this the Kazakh owners of high-octane gasoline and fuel have a wish to export this production to external markets.
