KAZINFORM. /Ruslan Suleimenov/ Making a speech at the Beijing sitting of the SCO Prime Ministers' Council Kazakh Premier Karim Massimov said that energy turns to be a weighty element in the global political landscape including the SCO space. According to him, instability in the hydrocarbon market generates a threat to the global energy saving. "Such situation is caused not only by the economic conjuncture fluctuations but also by a number of other reasons in the spheres of policy and security. To even up the situation in this sphere it is necessary to form an energy strategy of the SCO. It should be based on the principles of long-term, reliable, environmentally acceptable energy saving at reasonable price satisfying both exporters and consumers", the Kazakh Prime Minister emphasized. K. Massimov also noted that along with harmonization of the interests of the global energy cooperation participations it will be necessary to determine practical measures on stable provision of world economy with traditional energy resources, active implementation of energy saving programs and alternative energy sources.
