No political predilections in Kazakhstan oil transportation directions - Nazarbayev
Astana. April 10. Kazakhstan Today - There are no political predilections in Kazakhstan oil transportation directions, but economic gain, the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said on Monday.
"If it is favorable to transport oil through Russia, we will go there. If we feel, that it is 15 dollars cheaper to transport oil through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, we will go there. And if both of the routes are not beneficial, we will go to China," he said.
"Working with the USA, we never worked against the interests of Russia, and while working with Russia and China, we do not work against the USA or Europe interests," he noted.
It is expected, that in 2012 - 2015 Kazakhstan will become one of large suppliers of oil to the international market.
Currently Kazakhstan oil is transported to the world markets through Russia, Caspian pipeline consortium, and through oil pipeline Atasu - Alashankou - to China. Kazakhstan joined the project Baku - Ceyhan and intends to join the project Odessa - Brody - Gdansk and Burgas - Alexandropoulos.
