Inflation in Kazakhstan made 5.8% Oct 2009 - National Bank of Kazakhstan
ALMATY. November 11. KAZINFORM /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ In October 2009 inflation in Kazakhstan was fixed at 0.4%, Kazinform refers to Grigory Marchenko, Chairman of the National Bank.
In accordance with the date provided by Kazakhstan Statistics Agency, prices for foods didn't change in this period. As for non-foods and paid services their prices grew by 0.4% and 0.9% correspondingly, the Chief Banker of the country said.
In whole in nine months of 2009 inflation has made 5.1%. Compared to 2008, in Jan-Oct 2009 disinflation was caused by retardation of rise in prices for foods and paid services which had grown by 2.4% and 6.7% correspondingly over this period. Industrial goods rose by 7.4%. In September annual inflation rate fell and made 5.8%. According to Marchenko, this is the lowest rate since Sep 2003.
