Both Kazakh and Chinese engineers build Moinak GES
TALDYKORGAN. November 13. KAZINFORM /Sandugash Duisenova/ To date about six hundred people work at the construction site of the Moinak GES. Chinese hydro engineers from the State Grid Corporation of China are employed at the 9 km long tunnel construction. 260 Chinese citizens and about 300 Kazakhstanis work at the construction site.
This large-scale project will be put into operation in 2011. Its launching will promote the energy independence of Almaty region.
Despite the construction of the hydroelectric power station, modern housing settlements, towns and recreation areas will be constructed at Bastobe reservoir as well. Construction of a town for power engineers as well as construction of three apartment houses is underway here now. A mosque and a kindergarten are constructed as well.
