Kazakhstan bans import of some beef products from China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and several regions of Russia
ASTANA. November 30. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Kazakhstan has imposed ban on import of beef products from China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and several regions of Russia. Chairman of the State Inspection Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture Serik Suleimenov has informed at a press conference today.
Suleimenov says the decision was taken due to spread of infectious diseases of agricultural animals in this countries.
"Recently we have opened Poti and Batumi sea ports. Three years have passed since the moment of outbreak of African plague among pigs in Georgia. We inspected the territory of this country; our experts also checked the territory of Kyrgyzstan. In case the results of inspection are negative, we will lift the ban on some beef products", he added.
As for Kazakhstani beef, S. Suleimenov noted that Russia allowed export of products from 4 northern regions - Akmola. North Kazakhstan, Kostanai and Mangystau oblasts.
