Construction of buildings over 16 floors banned in Almaty

Almaty. April 16. Kazakhstan Today - Construction of buildings over 16 floors has been banned in Almaty. The maximum permissible height of constructions and public buildings erected in Almaty should not exceed 54 meters or 16 floors, the message of the city mayor office official site states. According to the assistant akim of Almaty Yacob Zayats, the regulations precisely define the parameters of density of building for each of the zones of the city depending on the structure of planning organizations. The akim assistant specified that during development of projects of buildings prior to the approval of the regulations, the architecturally-design permissions had been given and buildings of many storeys on some sites will be constructed in the near future.
