ASTANA. 26.01.2010. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Over the last two years amendments have been introduced to approximately 500 contracts on subsoil management including those on Kazakhstan's content and attraction of Kazakhstani specialists; Kazakh Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sauat Mynbayev has informed of it today at the enlarged session of the Committee for Environment and Natural Resource Use of the Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament. "As for the large mineral developers the situation here is complex. Following the last year negotiations concerning Kashagan the number of (Kazakhstani) people was increased from 9 to 241. Such a practice of gradual promotion of the national specialists to higher positions will continue", he said. The Minister also noted that it is possible to introduce amendments to previously concluded contracts only through negotiations with companies. As for the new contracts - they have beforehand the requirements on Kazakhstan's content in procurement and attraction of the national staff.
