Prime Minister K.Massimov: Investments in raw minefields must be connected with establishment of industrial productions in Kazakhstan
ASTANA. 09.02.2010. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan prime Minister Karim Massimov has held a meeting with representatives of the French business circles headed by co-Chairman of the Kazakh-French Business Council, President of Тотаl Exploration and Production Yves-Louis Darricarrere in the Ukimet Uiy.
There were discussed topical issues of further development of economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and France at the meeting; the Government's press service informs.
Yves-Louis Darricarrere informed the Premier of the course of holding the event in Astana with participation of representatives of MEDEF International (Movement of French Enterprises), which unites over 750 leading companies. He noted that the French companies, which represent the energy and transport fields, are engaged in infrastructure development, high technologies elaboration, and work in the sphere of environment protection, healthcare and finance, are interested in cooperation development with Kazakhstan.
The Prime Minister confirmed Kazakhstan's intentions in implementation of agreements reached by the two countries' presidents. "These agreements work well with the program of Kazakhstan's industrial development. Hence the agreements implementation is very important for us", K.Massimov said. He emphasized that within the framework of the Strategic Plan of Kazakhstan's Development till 2020, "the issue of attraction and transfer of advanced high technologies, distribution of capacities, technologies and specialists training in Kazakhstan is principal for Kazakhstan". "Our new policy of cooperation in the extractive industry supposes, that investments in raw minefields should be connected with creation of industrial production in Kazakhstan", the Premier said.
K.Massimov noted that a market outlet exceeded 170 mln people with creation of the Customs Union of Kazakhsatn, Russia and Belarus. In this connection Kazakhstan continues to improve investment, tax conditions and creates favorable business climate for investors.
The Prime Minister proposed the French side to develop attractive markets of food stock processing, food production and tourism. "We can quickly reach results in these directions", K.Massimov said.
Following the results of the negotiations the sides stated a positive course of economic cooperation development and expressed mutual interest in further strengthening of close ties between Kazakhstan and France.
