Kazakhstan considers oil transportation to European countries through Romania: N.Nazarbayev
ASTANA. 02.03.2010. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ "Kazakhstan considers issue of oil transportation through Romania to other European countries", Kazakh President N.Nazarbayev has said today after bilateral negotiations with his Romanian colleague Traian Basescu.
According to the President, launching of the world biggest Kazakhstani oil minefield "Kashagan" will provide an opportunity to receive additional 50 mln tons of oil per year.
"In this regard, today we have discussed a possibility of opening of a new transportation rout through the Caucasian corridor, i.e. through the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan and Georgia till Romania", the President noted.
As N.Nazarbayev noted, the Pan-European Oil Pipeline Project "Constanta - Trieste" will benefit both countries then.
The Kazakh Head of the State said that Kazakhstan already supplies oil to many European countries, including about 40 mln tons of oil to Romania.
