ASTANA. 17.03.2010. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ Today Kazakhstan produces 125 thousand tons of primary aluminum. Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev has announced it at the 1st Mining and Exploration Forum Minex Central Asia -2010. According to him, this year Kazakhstan will produce 250 thousand tons of primary aluminum after launching a number of facilities of mining industry. In the nearest five years it is planned to increase aluminum production. "At present there is mined about 45 mln tons of iron ores and concentrates", the Vice Prime Minister informed.
