KAZINFORM /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ Net international reserves of the National Bank rose by 8.4% and made USD 28.8 bln in April 2010, Chairman of the Bank Grigory Marchenko said at a briefing today. In April 2010 the international reserves of the country including the assets of the National Bank in foreign currency grew by 5.2% and made USD 55.2 bln. The assets in national currency made KZT 750.5 bln. Monetary base shrank by 3.1% and made KZT 2650, 8 bln in April. Narrow monetary base amounted to KZT 2047, 7 bln. In March 2010 monetary stock rose by 1.4% and comprised up to KZT 7758.5 bln. Deposits in banking system increased by 1.4% and made KZT 6860.3 bln.
