ASTANA. 03.06.2010. KAZINFORM Coordinating Council on the development of offshore oil and gas operations has been established in Kazakhstan. The corresponding decision was made at the tenth sitting of the Council of KAZENERGY Association that was held in Almaty, June 2.
Managing Director of North Caspian Operating Company Pierre Offant was appointed head of the Coordinating Council. A co-chairman became "KazMunaiTeniz" General Director Yermek Marabayev.
The members of the Association paid special attention to issues of personnel policy at the sitting of the Council that was held prior to the Foreign Investor's Council under the President of Kazakhstan.
The representatives of the three world's largest companies - TengizChevroil, Total, and Shell - expressed their views regarding the issue.
According to Chairman of KAZENERGY Timur Kulibayev, the establishment of this new Coordinating Council is of high importance because the society and the Government will closely observe the realization of projects in the Caspian Shelf.
Besides, T. Kulibayev noted that all major oil and gas fields could be considered as the objects of innovation because at those fields with high concentration of hydrogen sulfide and high pressure only new technologies were employed.
