Nazarbayev charged government, National Bank, financial centre to develop financial sector of Kazakhstan
Almaty. April 24. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev accepted annual reports of the National Bank, the agency on regulation of financial market and financial organizations and the agency on regulation of the Almaty regional financial center and gave a number of assignments on development of financial sector of the Republic, the agency reports referring to the president's press service.
The Chairmen of financial institutions Anvar Saydenov, Armand Dunayev and Arken Arystanov reported on the results of the work conducted in 2006.
The President of Kazakhstan drew attention to the main objective of the National Bank - to keep inflation under control. Since May of 2006 inflation decreased from 9% to 7.8 %, however inflationary potential still remains.
The agency on regulation of the regional financial city centre in Almaty presented the report for the first time. The Center carried out transactions for the sum of more than $41 billion.
