Kazakhstan to increase Caspian Sea transportations up to 30 million tons by 2012
Astana. May 2. Kazakhstan Today -Kazakhstan will increase Caspian Sea transportations up to 30 million tons by 2012. The Minister of Transport and Communication of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov informed today at the government session, the agency reports.
"By 2012 total amount of sea transportations will increase up to 65 million tons, the share of the Kazakhstan cargoes will increase up to 50 % off the total amount and will make 30 million tons," the Minister said.
S. Akhmetov reminded that Kazakhstan is realizing the project on expansion of port Aktau in the northern direction. "It will allow to increase the port's carrying capacity up to 23 million tons a year," he emphasized. The cost of the project makes 32.7 billion KZT.
