Annual GNP growth to total 8.9 - 9.7 %, inflation - 5 - 8 % in 2008 - 2009
Almaty. May 24. Kazakhstan Today - According to the amended forecast of the main macroeconomic parameters of the government of Kazakhstan, in 2008 - 2009 in the Republic the annual GNP growth (gross national product) will make 8.9 - 9.7 %, the rate of inflation will total 5 - 8 %. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov signed the decree, the agency reports referring to official mass media.
The government forecasts that in 2007 GNP per capita will make 12 464.1 billion KZT (growth of 9.7 % compared with last year), in 2008 - 14 874.2 billion KZT (9.4 %), in 2009 - 17 563.4 billion KZT (8.9 %). According to the Cabinet of Ministry forecast, in Kazakhstan the consumer price index (rate of inflation) in 2007 on average will make 5 - 7 %, in 2008 - 6 - 8 %, in 2009 - 6 - 8 %.
Earlier, the government forecasted annual GDP growth in 2007 - 2009 within 7.5 - 8 %, rate of inflation was expected - 5-7%.
