Kazakh Transport Minister, Byelorussian Ambassador met
ASTANA. June 28. KAZINFORM - Transport and Communications Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov met with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Byelorussia to Kazakhstan Vasily Gapeyev on June 26 in Astana city, Kazinform has learnt from the press service of the Transport and Communications Ministry.
During the meeting, the sides considered a number of issues concerning bilateral cooperation in the sphere of transportation between the two states. In particular, the questions on development of the international road transport and opening of a regular air service between Kazakhstan and Byelorussia were touched upon there.
An issue on freight handling from China through the territory of Kazakhstan in the direction of Byelorussia was considered there too.
Kazakhstan and Byelorussia cooperate in the sphere of railway service within the frame of the Central Council for Railway Sector of the CIS and the Baltic states.
Kazakhstan and Byelorussia signed an agreement on international highway service in January 2004.
