Gold and exchange currency reserves of Kazakhstan grew by 2 % in June
Almaty. June 4. Kazakhstan Today - The international reserves of Kazakhstan in current prices, including the money of the National Fund (according to the preliminary estimates - $17 642.8 million), as of June 29 increased by 2 % and made $40 018 million, the agency reports referring to the message of the National Bank of the Republic.
At the same time, net international reserves of the National Bank in current prices grew by 2.8 % (or by $616.5 million).
In spite of the carried out operations within a month on updating actives of the National Fund and service of external debt of the Ministry of Finance from the accounts of gold and exchange currency reserves of the National Bank, an increase of the rests in correspondent accounts of the banks of the second-tier in foreign currency in the National Bank, purchase of currency in the internal currency market and receipt of currency in the government's accounts led to increase of foreign currency reserves.
Thus, net foreign currency reserves (hard currency) increased by $634.9 million, actives in gold decreased by $18.4 million as a result of reduction of its price in the world markets by 1.23 %.
In real terms net international reserves of the National Bank grew by 2.9 %, net actives in hard currency - by 3.1 %, actives in gold decreased slightly - by 0.01 %.
Growth of net international reserves of the National Bank in June, 2007 caused expansion of monetary base by 4 % (or by 63.9 billion KZT).
