Price for food grew by 10.3 %
Almaty. September 3. Kazakhstan Today - Prices for food in August, 2007 in comparison with August, 2006 grew by 10.3 % in Kazakhstan, the Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan informed.
According to the Statistics Agency, the prices for fresh vegetables grew by 23.4 %, fruit - by 14.2 %. Meat and meat products increased by 14.8 %. The price for poultry, mutton, beef and horsemeat grew by 17 - 21 %, sausage products - by 7.4 %, pork - by 6.3 %. The prices for eggs increased by 18.9 %, dairy products - by 11.5 %, animal oil - by 6.3 %.
The prices for bakeries and groats increased by 9.7 %. Bread became more expensive by 14.1 %, flour - by 10.7 %, rice - by 7.7 %, cereals - by 7.4 %, fish and seafood by 13.3 %, confectionery products - by 5 %, and prices for sugar decreased by 5.5 %.
