Astana, Sofia discuss opportunity of Kazakhstan participation in gas project - Southern stream
Astana. September 4. Kazakhstan Today - Astana and Sofia are discussing an opportunity of participation of Kazakhstan in the gas project - Southern stream, the agency reports.
"We discussed with the President very interesting projects on transportation of gas," vice Prime Minister, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria Ivaylo Kalfin said at the briefing after the meeting with the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
In particular, we discussed two most important gas projects - Nabucco and the Southern stream. "I provided the President Nazarbayev with the information on a very important project - the Russian initiative - the Southern stream. It is in the earliest phase of development so we are now exchanging ideas, estimating the interests of participation in the project," I. Kalfin emphasized.
During the negotiations the questions of cooperation of the countries in oil projects were discussed. I. Kalfin reminded, " there is an interest of Kazakhstan in the project on construction of oil pipeline Burgas - Alexandroupolis."
"Kazakhstan - one of the basic suppliers of oil, which will be transported through the pipeline Burgas - Alexandroupolis." I think, Kazakhstan has all the bases to participate in realization of the project," the Bulgarian vice Prime Minister emphasized.
