Commodity turnover between Kazakhstan and Belarus can make $500 million - Belarus PM
Astana. September 12. Kazakhstan Today - Commodity turnover between Kazakhstan and Belarus by the end of 2007 can make $500 million, the Prime Minister of Belarus Sergey Sidorsky said at the opening of the fourth national exhibition of Belorussia in Astana Belarus of the Expo.
According to the Prime Minister of Belarus, Kazakhstan is the largest economic partner of Belarus in Central Asia. "The objective of the event - to establish a new level of the Kazakhstan-Belarus economic relations, to expand the area of business cooperation. We already have long-term contracts between the companies and the enterprises of two countries," S. Sidorsky informed.
According to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Belarus for the first half of 2007 has reached $250.1 million (export - $67 million, import - $182.4 million). In 2006 commodity turnover made $355.3 million, in 2005 - $234.5 million
Kazakhstan imports from Belarus agricultural machines, road transportation, tractors, lorries, lifts, refrigerators, furniture and medicine.
Belarus imports from Kazakhstan rolled metal, bearings, accumulators, and cotton and transport belt.
