Gani Kasymov requests Kazakhstan PM to cease Tengiz Shevroil work
Astana. September 21. Kazakhstan Today - The Senate deputy Gani Kasymov requests the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov to cease the work of the Tengiz Shevroil Company on the territory of the Republic until the problem with sulfur utilization is solved, the agency reports.
"I request to pay attention to the work of the company, the actions of which causes enormous harm to the environment and the whole population of not only Atyrau, but also the whole western region," Kasymov said at the plenary session of the Senate, addressing the Prime Minister with the deputy inquiry.
"If the issue of 9 million tons of dumped sulfur is not solved, I will request you to cease the activity of the company on the territory of Kazakhstan until full utilization of sulfur," he emphasized.
