Kazakhstan President, James Wolfensohn discussed prospects of development of Financial Center of Almaty
Astana. October 9. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and non-staff adviser James Wolfensohn discussed the prospect of development of the Regional financial center of Almaty, the agency reports.
"The meeting regarding development of the Regional financial center of Almaty of the non-staff adviser J. Wolfensohn and the President took place," the chairman of the Agency for regulation of activity of financial center Arken Arystanov informed at the briefing after the negotiations. Possible consequences of financial crisis in the USA for financial system of Kazakhstan and the activity of the financial center in Almaty were discussed during the meeting.
"The arrangement on further work, according to the plan of action for the nearest 2 years, with Mr. Wolfensohn, and defining of our further priorities, in particular, involving greater emitters and attraction of foreign investors to the financial market of Kazakhstan has been reached," A. Arystanov informed.
The decision that the adviser of the President J. Wolfensohn in the near future "will prepare recommendations on further policy of banking system," A. Arystanov noted.
