Romania is interested in attraction of Kazakhstan to gas project NABUCCO

Astana. October 12. Kazakhstan Today - Romania is interested in attraction of the Republic of Kazakhstan to gas project NABUCCO. The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Romania Adrian Choroyanu said today after the meeting with the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, the agency reports. "We discussed this question with the President Nazarbayev and I expressed the interest of Romania in participation of Kazakhstan in Trans-Caspian project NABUCCO," he noted. As it is known, the project NABUCCO was developed by five countries - Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Austria. It provides transit of natural gas through the bottom of the Caspian Sea through Turkey and the countries of the European Union. During the negotiations with the President of Kazakhstan the questions of bilateral cooperation in the field of energy and economy were discussed. He informed that it was a question of deliveries to Kazakhstan oil-and-gas equipment and pharmaceutical products from Romania." According to the official data, in 2006 commodity turnover between Kazakhstan and Romania made $829.3 million.
