Tariffs for electric power to rise in Kazakhstan - Nazarbayev
Astana. October 12. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev stated that tariffs for electric power in the country will rise and urged Kazakhstan citizens to save energy resources.
As tariffs for electric power, hot and cold water are cheap in our country, we spend these resources more than it is necessary," Nazarbayev said on Friday in the interview to journalists after the international conference Strategy of Kazakhstan 2030: results of the first decade and prospects.
"Our industry in three-four times more energy consuming, than in the developed countries," the President commented. He explained that low tariffs do not allow power companies to replace and modernize fixed capital. "We will not be able to create competitive production with such fixed capital," the leader of the state considers.
Nazarbayev urged the residents of the Republic to save energy resources. "Savings is not greed, but culture," the President of Kazakhstan emphasized.
