Kazakhstan is interested in development of oil-and-gas deposits in Syria
Astana. November 7. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan energy companies are ready to invest in development of oil-and-gas deposits of Syria, the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said during the session of the Kazakhstan-Syrian business council in Damascus.
Kazakhstan is ready to develop new deposits of Syria and to assist in geological exploration," the President said. Thus, he reminded that Kazakhstan plans to finish by 2015 oil extraction up to 130 million tons, from which 100 million tons will be for export. Volume of extraction of gas will be up to 80 billion cubic meters a year.
N. Nazarbayev stated interest in development of joint tourism industry. "Kazakhstan business is ready to invest in tourism branch at the Mediterranean Sea, including construction of hotels," he said.
According to the Minister of Industry and Commerce of Kazakhstan Gayle Orazbakov, Kazakhstan plans to construct a five-star hotel in the name of Sultan Beybars in Damascus. "This was proposed in summer. The Syrian party has confirmed it - it is ready to allocate the land site," he informed. By estimation, for realization of the project $30 million will be invested by Kazakhstan investments.
As it was informed earlier, the leader of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has been for a three-day state visit in Damascus.
