Income from realization of grain and flour export to make $1.4 billion

Astana. November 30. Kazakhstan Today - The income from realization of grain and flour export in 2007 will make $1.4 billion. Vice Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Akylbek Kurishbayev said during the second grain forum, the agency reports. "The income from realization of grain and flour export in 2007 will make $1.4 billion. If to compare parameters for five years, the level of profitability increased by almost 2 times," he noted. According to vice Minister of Agriculture, in 2006/07 marketing year maximum volume of export of grain and flour - 9 million tons. "And for the last 2 years we exported 3.6 million tons of flour and this is about total volume of export for the last six years," A. Kurishbayev noted. In his opinion, "achievement of successes in development of grain production was accompanied first of all by system work on increase of farming standard, growth of volumes, with the state support for agricultural commodity producers." He noted that the Kazakhstan exports grain to 44 countries. Basically, vice Minister specified these are the CIS countries (47 %), the Near East (23 %), EU (8 %). "Kazakhstan's grain for the first time has been exported to the markets of Hungary, Bangladesh, and Tanzania," A. Kurishbayev emphasized.
