Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev gave assignments on further development of Mangyastau oblast at the meeting with Mangystau oblast akim (mayor) Krymbek Kusherbayev, the agency reports referring to the president's press service. "The Kazakh leader charged to concentrate on production of export-oriented products within the limits of expansion of the special economic zone Seaport Aktau," Mangystau oblast akim said after the meeting with the President. "The government, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the National Company KazMunaiGas have been entrusted to develop the general plan of seaport Kuryk and its infrastructure," K. Kusherbayev said. According to the press-service, the akim reported to the President on the results of the social and economic development of the oblast in 2006 and the course of realization of the assignments of the President set during a working trip to the oblast in October 2006.
