December gold and exchange currency reserves of Kazakhstan increased by 0.3 %
Almaty. December 24. Kazakhstan Today - International reserves of the country as a whole (in current prices), including money of the National Fund (by preliminary data, $20 914.0 million), have increased by 0.3 % and made $39 002.9 million, the agency reports referring to the message of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Decrease in net international reserves of the National Bank in the first half of December 2007 caused compression of monetary base by 2.9 %, or by 42.5 billion KZT. At the same time net international reserves in current prices of the National Bank have decreased by 0.2 %, or by $30.8 million.
Operations of the National Bank on service of external debt of the Ministry of Finance, decrease in the rests of the correspondent accounts of the banks of the second level in foreign currency in the National Bank have been partially neutralized by purchase of currency in the internal currency market and income of currency in the accounts of the government in the National Bank.
As a result of the operations, net foreign currency reserves (hard currency) have decreased by $50.0 million, assets in gold have increased by $19.2 million, owing to increase in its price in the world markets by 0.2 %.
In real terms net international reserves of the National bank have decreased on 0,2 %, net assets in hard currency - by 0.3 %, actives in gold have increased by 0.9 %.
