Kazakhstan government to restrain inflation in 2008 - PM
Astana. December 25. Kazakhstan Today - The government of Kazakhstan in 2008 plans to continue the work on restraint of inflation. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov said today at the government session, the agency reports.
"The main purpose of the work in 2008 will be our anti-inflationary policy," K. Masimov said. "That is control over pricing. The issue of tariffs formation in all directions is one of the most important objectives," he noted.
"The second half of the current year has shown that there was a certain increase in inflation all over the world, not only in Kazakhstan. There are apprehension that this tendency can proceed in 2008," the Prime Minister noted. "Therefore, the Ministry of Economics and Budgetary Planning has been charged to work out some scripts of our general policy, inflation scenarios - pessimistic, optimistic and average.
