Kazakhstan government approved quota for foreign labor for 2008

Astana. January 4. Kazakhstan Today - The government of Kazakhstan approved quota for attraction of foreign labor for 2008. The decision on establishment of quota on attraction of foreign labor for realization of labor activity on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2008 is published today in official mass media, the agency reports. "To establish quota on attraction of foreign labor for realization of labor activity on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2008 at the rate of 1.60 percent to economically active population of the Republic, including: the first and the second categories (the administrative board of the organization, experts with the higher and secondary vocational training) - 0.60 percent; the third categories (qualified workers) - 0.93 percent; the fourth category (employees for seasonal agricultural works) - 0.07 percent," the decree states. The document was accepted on December 28, 2007. The decree is put into operation after 10 calendar days from the date of the first official publication.
