Agency for regulation of financial market and financial organizations supervision of second-tier banks to be strengthened in 2008
Astana. January 8. Kazakhstan Today - Supervision of the Agency for regulation and supervision of financial market and financial organizations of the Republic Kazakhstan over the second-tier banks will be strengthened in 2008. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov informed today during the selector government meeting, the agency reports.
"Rapid change of conjuncture of the international financial markets demands duly reaction, both from the government, and from other corresponding bodies. Duly revealing of potential risks will allow taking operative measures for the financial system for their elimination," K. Masimov said. "In this connection, strengthening of supervision of the Agency for regulation and supervision of financial market and financial organizations of the Republic Kazakhstan over the second-tier banks, expansion of technical and personnel base of the agency, improvement of the methods of gathering and analysis of the information should be provided," he added.
The Prime Minister emphasized, that the Agency for regulation and supervision of financial market and financial organizations of the Republic Kazakhstan supports the initiative of the bank sector on improvement of the method of management of risks and carrying out of stress tests of credit portfolios.
