23 miners of Abay mine recognized dead
Karaganda. January 14. Kazakhstan Today - 23 miners of Abay mine have been recognized dead. The Minister of Emergency Vladimir Bozhko officially declared on Sunday.
"23 miners, missing people, have been recognized perished. At 11 o'clock it was made known to their relatives. Search works have been stopped. We cannot risk rescuers because this is the situation similar to the one that was at the Ukrainian mine Zasyadko when 110 rescuers were killed," V. Bozhko said.
According to Emergency Minister, highly professional mine rescuers took part in rescue operations. They carried out all the possible operations to rescue the miners. Due to spread of fire, rescuers were taken out of the mine, stopped air supply and started filling the mine with water.
