Explosion on mine occured through corporation's fault - Emergency Minister
Karaganda. January 29. Kazakhstan Today - Explosion in Abay mine has occured through the fault of the coal department of Arcelor Mittal Temirtau Company. The Minister of Emergency of Kazakhstan Vladimir Bozhko informed today at the press conference devoted to the work of the state commission investigating the reasons of the accident.
According to the Emergency Minister, the state commission came to the conclusion, that "in the given accident - there is an absolute fault of the employer." The responsible people for the accident have been defined: the chief of the site №2 K. Arinov, the main technologist A. Hamzabayev, the chief engineer N.Tsvetkov and the employer - the legal entity of Arcelor Mittal Temirtau, General Director Satish Topariya," V. Bozhko informed.
The accident has occured as a result of explosion of methane-air mixture. The factors that caused formation of this explosion, first, block caving, secondly, increase of unplanned gas emission and, thirdly, intensive gas emission, the minister said.
