Kazakhstan plans to extract 70 million tons of oil in 2008

Astana. February 7. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan plans to extract 70 million tons of oil in 2008. The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sauat Mynbayev said today at the session of the board of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Kazakhstan. "We plan to extract 69-70 million tons of oil in 2008," the minister said. S. Mynbayev reminded, volume of oil refining in 2008 will be increased by 500 thousand tons and will make 12.5 million tons. Thus, the minister noted the necessity of modernization of all three Kazakhstan oil refining factories, having added, "one more factory will be probably constructed. As a whole, according to the ministry, last year oil and gas condensate extraction increased by 3.7 % and made 67.2 million tons. More than 12 million tons of oil was refined last year.
